This site gives away a paid product. It is fair that you know why, so here it is without the small print.

The short version

When you start a Shopify store through the link in your account, Shopify may pay us a commission. That commission is what pays for both storefront designs you get for free. It costs you nothing extra. You pay Shopify exactly what you would have paid without us, and we never add anything on top.

What we earn, and when

Shopify runs its affiliate program through a company called Impact. We are paid only if a referral eventually pays for an eligible Shopify plan at full price, and only under the conditions in Shopify’s own affiliate terms. Starting a free trial earns us nothing. Cancelling before the first full month earns us nothing.

We cannot see your Shopify invoices and we do not know what you pay. What we see is what Impact reports to us: that a referral happened, and later whether it was paid out.

Why the designs come with conditions

The designs on this site sell for $99 at horizonbyrobbin.com. They are free here because of the arrangement above, and that arrangement only works for genuinely new stores started from here. That is the entire reason the conditions exist. They are not there to catch you out, and they are written in full on How it works before you start rather than after.

What this does not mean

It does not mean we are Shopify, or that we speak for Shopify. We are an independent project. Shopify and Horizon are trademarks of Shopify Inc.
It does not mean you have to use our link. Shopify is available to anybody directly, and you are welcome to start there. You would then not qualify for the free designs, and you can still buy them.
It does not change our advice. We recommended Shopify long before this site existed, and the walkthroughs say the same things they said then.
